Not Impressed

with the latest Gem and Jewelry show where I usually buy my beads. I had to pay admission, which just added insult to injury.
OH, and I got lost so I was 45 minutes late. As a result, I didn't finish shopping in time to catch the Ponyo show with my daughter.

"They're Just People"

while watching the Cards/Cubs game tonight, we asked Lily who she was going to cheer for. She said the Cubs. Of course, since Toby and I are Cardinal fans we both say 'You can't cheer for the Cubs, they're our enemies".
Lily replies in a very sincere voice, 'They're not enemies, they're just people'!
So we ask again, "Who are you going to cheer for, the Cardinals or the Cubs?".
Her reply 'The Nationals'!

Background: Lily was born in the DC metro area around the same time the Montreal Expos moved to DC. The Nationals really are her hometown team. Let's just hope they start winning so she really has something to cheer about!

Beach House...

okay....2 DFh's and I apparently can't blog!

as I was saying on the 'Chicks on The Bat' blog....the beach is not recession proof! The beach seems empty, which I really don't mind because you can get up at a reasonable hour and still get a good seat for the Atlantic Ocean show. The temps are a bit on the cool side for an unheated pool, but I'm not complaining! It's just fine soaking in the sun pool side or ocean side. and when the original DogFish Head is not far - even better!

Tuesday June 30

Okay - I'm committed to fill you in a little better with what's going on.
I have finally got some time to start setting up my on-line store to sell jewelry thru Etsy.
Through some trial and error, I think I've got the basics up there for the 'shell' of the site. But no jewelry yet. I've got some, but I have to take pretty pictures of it!

I also vacuumed the engine of my car and hung patriotic bunting. I have become my mother-in-law!

Puffing

The sight I saw this morning coming into work was not pretty - but amusing nonetheless. A very well-dressed gentleman was outside my office builidng drinking a cup of coffee. Very proper, standing there holding a cup and saucer of the fine addictive that I also love to partake in.

He then proceeded to take a huge drag off of his ciggie. HUGE...like fish gulping for air huge.... He took a sip of coffe (pinky NOT extended) and then another HUGE puff. I guess with all those vices working together at once, he really was gasping for air!

Spring is Sprung!

The first sign of life in my backyard!

Daylight Savings Woes

Every year, I seem to fall further and further behind in adjusting to daylight savings time. For me, it's getting up out of bed. and to add insult to injury, in the evenings we're so excited to stay outside past 5pm that we forget that we've got dinner to make, bath time, story time and then finally bed. So we've been a little lapse at getting to bed at an hour that supports getting up at our regular time.
This week is gonna be tough!
